New Program for Magdalene Home
June 2008
Magdalene Home has always focused on increasing the skills and resources available to the young mothers who live at Magdalene Home.
Over the past year we have seen the increased need for a systematic and throrough way to ensure that we were covering all areas that needed to be addressed. We have put together a new parenting program to serve not only the young mothers at Magdalene Home but those in the community who may be on our waiting list, have recently moved on to independent living or who just need extra support.
We teach classes on Wednesday night, following dinner at the Home. In these classes, we are addressing issues such as nutrition, child development, positive discipline, healthy choices and budgeting. We are excited about this new program and the growth we are seeing in our young mothers!
This program is funded in part by a generous grant from the Anna May Foundation. We thank Anna May Foundation for believing in the work we do with these young mothers and children!

Melissa and Kaydance moved into Magdalene Home when Kaydance was just six months old. In the year that they made their home with us, Melissa was able to finish high school and achieve goals of her own. We are very proud of Melissa and Kaydance!
