A loving alternative for homeless pregnant or parenting young mothers

When 12-year-old Trent saw the parasitic ivy growing up the trunks of our majestic Magdalene Home oak trees, his conscientious naturalist spirit was troubled that the ivy was killing the trees. Acting on his own initiative, he volunteered to remove the ivy and haul it to the dump.

With the help of his mother, Amy Thuren, his grandfather, Mac McClung, his sister, Maya, and his brother, Landon, Trent organized the crew and came over and spent hours pulling off the ivy and hauling it away.

We are grateful to Trent and our other volunteers who help us keep our trees, grounds, and home looking their best!

Thank you, Trent, you’re an amazing young citizen!
